Prologue

Maybe no one has ever heard about it, but many thousands of years ago there was a beautiful and powerful country. It was Egypt — but not the Egypt we know today. It was different, and you will see it in this story.

This land was ruled by Pharaoh Diijozhishit the First. He was a good, wise, and brave ruler. People respected him and did not fear him.

Next to him stood Queen Athanasia. She was very different from the pharaoh. She was angry, ambitious, and wanted power. When the pharaoh brought more women into the palace, she became even more jealous.

There were three more women in the palace.

Neferida was kind and beautiful, but her life was not fair. She was poisoned while she was pregnant and died. Her child survived. He was the second son, Orest.

Nefisida, her sister, was jealous and selfish. The pharaoh liked her, and she gave birth to a son, Irak.

The last woman was Veronica. She was smart, strong, and very beautiful. She was the first woman who was interested in politics. People respected her, and the pharaoh loved her very much.

She also took care of Orest and treated him like her own son.

Later, she had a daughter.

Her name was Eferiada.

When the children grew up, they started learning different things. Burak studied fighting and strategy. Irak studied history and politics. Orest studied many sciences and did not follow the priests.

Eferiada also studied many things like her brother.

But peaceful days did not last long.

The pharaoh became sick, and problems started in the royal family. After some time, he died — not because of illness, but because he was poisoned.

After his death, a war for power began in Egypt.

And this is where everything begins.
